ASL-FFE
The lightsaber comprises a flexible polycarbonate tube blade measuring 2.54 cm in diameter and approximately 2 mm in thickness. It culminates in a round tip and is inserted into an aluminum handle. Clamping screws hold the blade in place, while an LED within the handle, near the battery, diffuses light that reflects off the blade. For models equipped with sound, a switch controls the activation of both the light and sound effects. The overall length of the lightsaber approaches 110 cm.
The overall length of the LED saber is measured from the tip of the pommel to the tip of the
blade. It must be between 100 cm (inclusive) and 110 cm (exclusive) in length.
Only blades made of polycarbonate of medium thickness (2 mm) are allowed for the
competitions.
The permissible thickness is between 2.4 cm and 2.6 cm.
The permissible inner thickness is between 1.8 mm and 2.2 mm.
The permissible length is between 79 cm and 84 cm.
SSL-SportSaberLeague
All blades must be constructed of polycarbonate.
Blade length is 61cm to 92cm.
Minimum depth of blade in emitter is 5cm.
Maximum width/diameter of emitter is 5cm.
Maximum total weapon length is 125cm.
Wall thickness of blades is 1.5mm to 2mm.
Maximum width of Tsubas is 8cm.
Maximum width of side blades fitted to crossguards is 25cm.
BULLET POINTS ARE PROHIBITED.
SHARP EDGES AND DANGEROUS PROTRUSIONS ARE PROHIBITED.
Sabres must have light, and must be ILLUMINATED FOR ALL MATCHES if possible.
Sound is optional.
Common gear
The protective mask adheres to European CE standards and follows the design of a classic fencing mask. It features a stainless steel grille and a bib capable of withstanding impacts of up to 350N. Additional options for the mask include a mask cover or rear protection, further reducing the risk of impact.
Specially designed to block blows, the reinforced gloves are constructed with leather material. They incorporate a shell on the top of the hand and foam plates on the phalanges, offering excellent grip on lightsabers.
